This 1981 Greco EGF 850C was a previously unknown non-catalog Greco Special Order model - a Flame Topped Custom!  The guitar has a fantastic top,  nicer than typically found on an EGF 850, the model it appears to be based on. 

As a Super Real era LP Custom, the guitar features all gold hardware, waffle back tuners found on higher grade Greco Customs, five ply binding on the headstock, seven ply binding on the body's top and five ply on its back.  Pickups are PU-2's with gold covers and pole screws.  Pickups are dated to January 1981 and the Serial number March 1981.  The neck is one piece mahogany with a rosewood fretboard, fret edge binding and mother of pearl block inlays. 

Condition overall is outstanding on this guitar and it appears to be all original.  I believe its case is original to the guitar as well.   Its condition and originality are really fortunate given it is the first instance of this model identified and its 40+ year age.  I've included many detailed pics below to better document the guitar and model.

Finding the guitar and being able to positively identify it as a previously unknown EGF model is pretty exciting.
