Greco SA61-90 1981
SOLD
This is a collector quality example of a 1981 Greco SA61-90 semi acoustic, which is modeled after a 1961 ES-335. The guitar is in outstanding original condition with some nicks, dents and scratches as you must expect on a guitar of this age. The guitar features a one piece mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, fret edge binding, lacquer finish, a correct to the original maple center block sandwiched between spruce top and bottom, and original hardware with a consistent vintage patina.
I believe this is a transition guitar, as its serial number indicates it was made in 1981, but it carries a 1982 and later Mint Series part number (SA61-90). As seen in the picture of the label in the F -Hole, '61 90' was added on top of what appears to be SA-900, which would be the 80-81 Super Real model number. Top and back are maple-mahogany-maple three ply (per 1981 specs) with beautiful figuring on the top.
Pickups appear to be the original Greco 'the Groove' humbuckers, which Greco developed for their SA model guitars. The guitar plays and sounds great, with a fantastic vintage semi-acoustic vibe. There is no buzzing anywhere on the neck.

This guitar is in amazing all original condition, perfect for a collector or player that wants a beautifully built vintage Japanese semi-acoustic true to the original '61 it is modeled on. This guitar includes what I believe to be its original case. Please take a look at the many detailed pictures below to see just how nice this guitar is.
